Alger County has a variety of picturesque sights and outdoor activities to offer anyone traveling through the area. Here are just a few nearby. If you're making us a stop on your way through the Upper Peninsula, you'll find many more natural wonders and unique offerings tucked in along highways and side roads.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Nearly 40 miles of Lake Superior shoreline to explore, featuring a little of everything - rocky cliffs, sand dunes and beaches. The Park Service and Forest Service operate a shared visitor center in Munising as well.

Hiawatha National Forest
This protected area has a diverse range of environments to explore as well as historical and cultural landmarks. Please note that our area is nearest to the western region of this divided National Forest.
